Polyvinyl chloride, abbreviated as PVC, is a polymer formed by the free radical polymerization of vinyl chloride monomer under the action of initiators such as peroxides and azo compounds, or under the action of light and heat.

Chemical Properties

Main application areas

Building materials: It is the largest consumer of PVC, accounting for about 25%, mainly used in the production of door and window profiles, pipes (downpipes, drinking water pipes), wall panels, and floor tiles. ‌

1.Industry and Electric Power: Due to its excellent electrical insulation properties, it is widely used in wire and cable insulation layers and protective tubes; the hard board can be used to make chemical-resistant storage tanks, air ducts, and containers. ‌‌

2.Daily use and packaging: Soft PVC is used to manufacture films (raincoats, tablecloths, shrink packaging), artificial leather (leather bags, sofas), shoe soles, toys, and records. ‌

3.Medical devices: Medical-grade PVC is used to produce infusion bags, blood transfusion equipment, and disposable medical supplies. ‌
