Neopentyl Glycol（NPG）

Neopentyl glycol (NPG) is an odorless, white crystalline solid that is hygroscopic. It is primarily used in the production of unsaturated resins, oil-free alkyd resins, polyurethane foams, and elastomers, as well as in plasticizers, surfactants, insulating materials, printing inks, polymerization inhibitors, and additives for synthetic aviation lubricants. Additionally, NPG serves as an excellent solvent for the selective separation of aromatic and naphthenic hydrocarbons; its amino baking enamels offer good gloss retention and resistance to yellowing. It also serves as a raw material for the production of stabilizers and pesticides.

Neopentyl glycol is widely used in chemical manufacturing—primarily as a raw material for resins, plasticizers, and lubricant additives—and offers excellent water and weather resistance.

Resin Coatings: Used in the production of unsaturated polyesters, alkyd resins, and powder coatings; ensures gloss retention and prevents yellowing.

Plastics and Rubber: Used as a plasticizer for polyurethane foams and elastomers, enhancing material flexibility.

Other Applications: Synthesis of high-grade lubricant additives, solvents, pharmaceutical and agrochemical intermediates, and surfactants.
