Thermoplastic Polyurethane（TPU）

Thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer—also known as thermoplastic polyurethane rubber and abbreviated as TPU—is a polymer material synthesized from diisocyanates, oligomeric polyols, and chain extenders. It exhibits a unique "soft-hard" segmented structure: the "soft segments" consist primarily of oligomeric polyols and determine low-temperature performance and elasticity, while the "hard segments" are composed of diisocyanates and small-molecule chain extenders, influencing the softening/melting temperature and high-temperature performance.

Product Usage

Footwear and Sports Equipment: Represents the largest share (approx. 40%); used in athletic shoe soles, air cushions, waterproof-breathable uppers, and soccer ball outer layers, providing cushioning, abrasion resistance, and resistance to deformation.

Films and Protective Materials: Used to manufacture paint protection films (PPF), waterproof-breathable apparel fabrics, inflatable products, and mobile phone screen protectors; characterized by scratch self-healing, puncture resistance, and high moisture permeability.

Automotive Industry: Used for interior surfacing, seals, high-pressure hoses, cable sheathing, and airbag coatings; serves as a replacement for traditional rubber and PVC, offering oil and aging resistance.
